To get us in the mood before we hit Mods vs. Rockers on Saturday June 20th we will be having a Quadrophenia watch party that Friday at the Maplewood Compound. This is a BYOB event which will start at 9:00pm.  Please register with this site to gain access to our members area if you would like to attend.

Again, this is a BYOB event but take it easy as after seeing this movie you will want to join me for a short Midnight ride.

Many say that The Who album Quadrophenia changed their lives, I know this to be the case for me. Also, there are those who say that if you listen to Quadrophenia you have to listen to the entire album start to finish in order no exceptions. Interesting concept for today’s iPod generation. Recently Jimmy’s Lambretta was auctioned off in London for $58726.62 or 36,000 pounds.

The movie came out in 1979 and sparked a new wave of Mods and scooter riders.  Set in the early sixties this movie tells the story of a young Mod, Jimmy, who is dealing with all the pressures, and angst of trying to fit in and find his own way.

A very young Sting plays Ace Face, the quintessential Mod the others look up to, literally he so much taller than the others.

Vespa Celebrates Quadrophenia

Here is an ad that Vespa did back in 2001 for the DVD release party.

We hope to see you there!

Below are pictures of the Loft movie theater at the Maplewood Compound, it’s an awesome setup and a great place for a shindig.
