Daley Breaks Down the 1 Billion in Fed Stimulus $86 million to fix arterial streets

“According to City of Chicago bean counters, the city will get a little over $1 billion from the federal stimulus plan, which is aimed to jump start the economy. According to Mayor Daley, it can only be used for certain projects. Some aldermen disagree.
Daley said the stimulus money will go to infrastructure projects, such as fixing the pothole-ravaged section of Chicago Avenue west of Grand Avenue. ”

For us scooter riders this is welcome news as potholes can really ruin your day, if you’ve ever hit one at a good clip you know the fear I speak of.
At our last meetup we talked about using Google to map out and document major potholes around the city. We will be moving forward on this and hopefully it will make a difference.
As always when you see a pothole you should report it to 311, the more information they get the more likely it will be that this 86 million will fix it and you wont be going airborne.
