Mod Lifestyle- Music

Mods: Modernist were influenced by many things from Italian clothes, and scooters, to Jamaican Reggae, Ska, and American soul music. One of the original Jamaican artist that the Mods in London spent many a late late late night dancing to was Dandy Livingston. Dandy, created some of the more well know Reggae and Ska sounds that has been recreated many times over.  In the late 70’s and early 80’s the Mod scene was revived in part with Dandy’s music by The Specials which made a number 1 hit with Dandy’s song ‘Rudy, a message to you’.  The 1979 Who movie Quadrophenia set the Mod revival into full gear in London with 2 Tone and in America finding a large home in southern California with bands such as The Untouchables which all later in the 90’s influenced bands like No Doubt, The Stone Roses, and even Oasis.
