Would they Ticket Batman? New Loop Parking
At the Secret Batman Loop Parking we finally got a parking ticket. After it happened I looked around and found one of the “company” guys that walk around the loop giving out parking violations. That’s all they do all day long.
Anyway, I walked up and asked him if he had written the ticket, and he said very politely, “no”, and ask if he could take a look at it. I said “sure”, and asked, “is there anything that can be done?” He told me that it was not issued by him but that it was issued by an actual cop that probably was just driving by. He then went on to tell me he would never ticket a scooter parked they way mine was and I believed him as many of us had been parking there for months ticket free. He then pointed out that I should contest the ticket because the cop wrote down the wrong address. I ask how likely was it that it would be thrown out due to that, and he replied “you’d be surprised”.
Well Life went on and with me being busy and even more the procrastinator I missed my window to contest the ticket and really deep down I didn’t feel the hassle and the time was worth saving $60. So, I went online to pay the ticket at the website. There you are given a number of choices to locate and pay your ticket. You can search by ticket number, license plate number, or your vehicles VIN number.
So I searched all three and NOTHING..No Ticket Found. So, for now I am going to just file it away and I’ll search again later. I hope this means I don’t have to pay it.
Now, since the ticket I have gone back to the Batman parking spot but yesterday two of the scooters parked there had tickets. I got there after they had been issued so I didn’t get one. Today, when I pulled in to park one of the guys from the building informed me that some complained and now they would be ticketing everyday.
I was off to find a new spot. It didn’t take me long, just a few blocks away I strike the mother load; Scooter Mecca. Complete rows of scooters parked proudly along the street. I pulled in and felt at ease as if I was amongst friends and I was.
